At PimedBio, we’ve developed a cutting-edge platform technology called "Drugging InformaticsTM", designed to discover innovative drug candidates that can effectively manage the complex signaling pathways involved in challenging diseases like cancer and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMIDs).
What is Drugging Informatics™?
"Drugging Informatics™" is an advanced informatics approach that leverages big data to uncover new drug targets and design therapies capable of controlling multiple disease-related pathways at once. This platform is especially tailored for treating diseases with complex origins, where traditional treatments often fall short.
How Does It Work?
Our platform operates in two key phases:
- Pluripotential Target Discovery
- In this phase, we identify what we call "pluripotential targets"—proteins that play a central role in activating and driving the majority of cellular pathways involved in a specific disease. These targets are crucial because their inhibition can safely and effectively control the disease, regardless of which pathways are active. By analyzing big data, we pinpoint proteins that consistently boost disease progression but don’t pose safety risks if they are inhibited. This allows us to find targets that can potentially regulate multiple signaling pathways simultaneously, making them ideal candidates for drug discovery and development.
- Innovative Drug Design
- Once we’ve identified these key targets, we move to the drug design stage. Here, we deeply analyze the target proteins to develop drug candidates that can modulate these proteins optimally. Our design process focuses on understanding the relationship between a drug’s structure and its activity, ensuring that the final product is both effective and safe. We explore various strategies, including drugs that inhibit multiple pathways, protein degraders, inhibitors of protein-protein interactions, peptidomimetic drugs, and inhibitor-drug conjugates.
